All over the world, China is taking ownership – whether that is companies, real estate, or farmland. The Communist Chinese Party (CCP) is so ambitious, they are buying up hundreds of thousands of acres of farmland in North Dakota – located only a small distance from a United States Air Force base.
The new purchase comes from the Chinese company, Fufeng Group – a food producer that plans on building a corn-milling plant in Grand Forks, North Dakota – adding another 300 acres to an already whopping 200,000 acres of prime American farmland.
The 300 acres are a mere 20 miles from Grand Forks Air Base, the location of sensitive drone technology, so of course the new ownership is sparking national security concerns from not only military officers, but national security experts and lawmakers.
The air force base is home to a space-networking center and has been called ‘the backbone of all US military communications across the globe,’ according to CNBC.
Lawmakers are raising the alarm and are outspoken against American farmland falling into the hands of the CCP – the solution is to limit the ability of China to gain ownership of precious farmland.
Air Force Major Jeremy Fox wrote a memo in April about the purchase – which cost the Fufeng Group $2.6 million – outlining why the move shows that China is making every effort possible to get as close as possible to US military bases.
Fox also noted that the new property is in the perfect location for the company to be able to interfere or intercept communications coming from the Air Force base.
Of note, ex-CEO of Microsoft, Bill Gates, has just been called out for his recent acquisition of farmland, also located in North Dakota and was recently brought up in a Congressional hearing, with a question asked as to why he is buying up so much farmland in the United States, when he doesn’t even believe that Americans should continue to eat beef.
Over the last thirty years, China has positioned themselves into the number two spot on the world stage, and part of the success is owed to buying up millions of acres of land – which cements the CCPs strength and position.
China has become wealthy by stealing all the industry from first world nations and using slave labor to keep costs at a minimum, while reaping massive profits.
This is not new behavior for China either – this is the same country that has bought almost the entire mining industry from Australia, owns huge swaths of land for farming and forestry in New Zealand, has bought ports and businesses located in strategic locations – all in key industries – all around the Pacific Ocean, South America, Asia, Europe and Africa.
There are even rumors that the Chinese are now mining on the dark side of the moon.
China wants it all and they will stop at nothing to get it, hopefully American lawmakers care enough about American lives to put an end to the land grabbing.
