Truckers Are About To Run Out Of Fuel, Will Devastate The Supply Chain Further

There are currently shortages across the world and in America, baby formula is unsurprisingly at the forefront of everyone’s mind – but another shortage is about to devastate everything – truckers are running out of diesel and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), the fuel they need to keep their trucks on the road and food on grocery store shelves.

The pandemic has left the supply chain in a dire situation and the reckless policies of Joe Biden, is not doing anything but makes matters far worse. Then there is the war in Ukraine that has further disrupted supplies and has cut off Russian oil, after the West imposed sanctions for the invasion.

At a recent Surface Board Transportation meeting in April, Shameek Konar – CEO of Pilot Flying J – a nationwide chain of TruckStops, are having difficulty locating the fuel they need to keep truckers on the road, especially after rail lines have decided to embargo the fuel. The industry is signaling it is about to take a massive hit, more than 10 percent, devastating the food industry and consumer market.

“We have metastasizing supply chain crises and economic erosion happening all over the country, and it’s all mostly happening in the background,” writes Chris Bray on his Substack about the issue. “You have to hunt for signs of it, or stumble across them. The news isn’t news, but a way of getting you to look away.”

The mainstream media is also failing to report on what is going on and people are going to be experiencing some of the highest prices and shortages that have not been seen for an exceptionally long time.

“Remember this moment,” Bray adds. “Remember, in six months, that we were here, and that the news was about Amber Heard and the Donald Trump is bad theme, which is apparently very important.”

This summer and fall, expect for there to be shortages of everything.

Pilot Flying J is currently in danger of losing about one-third of its total rail shipping capacity, according to Konar, which will strand an astounding 100 million gallons (about 378541000 L) of DEF per year with “each rail car … worth about five million miles of trucking.” He warns that there is no way to replace 100 million gallons of DEF “in any reasonable time frame.”

“You could maybe replace it by next year,” he explained at the meeting.

It is expected that one in ten trucks will no longer be on the road and this is going to add a massive amount of pressure on everyone from the farmers to the consumers. It is possible that this is going to be far worse than the Great Depression ever was.

The only prudent advice would be to stock your shelves while you can before the panic buying sets in.
