A private equity firm founded by Hunter Biden has been found to have facilitated the purchase of an American Cobalt mine by a Chinese corporation for $3.8 million.
The company is called Bohai Harvest RST (BHR).
The mine, located in the Democratic Republic of Congo, was owned by the American-owned company Freeport-McMoRan until 2016 when it was purchased by the Chinese mining unit, China Molybdenum.
A report by The New York Times read:
“China Molybdenum arranged $700 million of the total as loans from Chinese state-backed banks raised the remaining amount from unknown entities controlled by China Construction’s investment bank. Before the deal was finished, an agreement was signed that allowed China Molybdenum to buy a major share of the mine, the filings show. That purchase gave China Molybdenum 80% ownership of the mine.”
In 2019, when Hunter Biden held control of 10% of the investment firm through a Washington-based LLC, one of the companies involved in the financing had retained its stake.
As the NYT states, Chinese corporate documents reveal that Hunter’s firm is still a partial owner of a group that signed on to the agreement. But Biden’s attorney says that Hunter no longer has any interest in the stakes either directly or indirectly.
A former BHR board member says that Hunter and other American founders had no involvement in the sale of the mine. They claim that BHR took only too a small fee for facilitating the transaction of the deal. They further claim that proceeds from the sale went to cover the operating costs of the organization and did not go into the pockets of any of the company’s owners.
However, as the NYT points out, there is no clear reason why the Chinese buyer would choose Biden’s company to facilitate the transaction. They write:
“A dozen executives involved in the deal said in interviews that they were given no reason for BHR’s participation. Most said they were unaware of Biden’s connection to the firm. Lundin’s chief executive said it was made clear that China Molybdenum was leading the transaction though the buyer was BHR. Mr. Conibear said of BHR, ‘I never really understood who they were.’”
At the end of the day, this is the clear residue of the Biden family’s ongoing involvement in the selling of American interests to hostile foreign powers.
It is the same kind of crime Hillary Clinton was hiding when she obliterated her emails, and we can only imagine how much of it has never been brought to light.
Now, the remnant of the Obama administration is back in the White House, and with these traitors so emboldened, we can only expect this kind of criminality to intensify.
